Within the framework of the European Waste4Think project, experimental trials are carried out at the Laboratory of Biochemical Engineering and Environmental Technology, Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Patras (Greece) in collaboration with Green Technologies Ltd (Greece), for the exploitation of used baby diapers from nurseries, incontinence cloths for the elderly from nursing homes and expired food products from Super Markets. Green Technologies Ltd is also responsible for the construction and operation of the Greek pilot plant for the utilization of baby diapers and expired food waste, aiming at the conversion of this waste into biogas for the development of an efficient utilization process in the context of the circular economy.
